Man arrested on suspicion of setting six fires in Belmont BELMONT – Police on Friday arrested a 32-year-old San Mateo man on suspicion of setting half a dozen fires in Belmont.The man was booked into San Mateo County jail on charges of arson, resisting arrest and malicious mischief, the Belmont Police Department said in a news release.An officer found the first of the six blazes burning at an abandoned gas station at Hill Street and El Camino Real around 3:40 a.m. Friday.
