At last, the 2023 NFL season has arrived.Longtime WTOP.com readers know the drill by now, as I’ve been doing this annual NFL preview at WTOP for over a decade. But for those new to the game: I’ll go division by division and predict win-loss records for every team and explain the logic behind each prediction.Just be aware there’s a really good chance you’ll read some things you may not like about your favorite team. A man was critically injured after an electric bicycle explosion at a home in Northwest D.C. last Thursday.The battery caught fire at a home in the 700 block of Irving Street near Georgia Avenue.Now, D.C. Fire and EMS is out with a warning.D.C. BRUSSELS (AP) — Belgian champion Antwerp has brought in Netherlands left back Owen Wijndal on loan until the end of the season ahead of its Champions League campaign.Antwerp defeated Greek club AEK Athens last month in a playoff to reach he group stage for the first time. The club has been placed in Group H alongside Barcelona, Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk.Wijndal joined from Ajax, where he played 28 games last season but was not part of new coach Maurice Steijn’s plans.The 23-year-old left-footed defender has made 11 appearances with the Dutch national team. A multi-vehicle collision in Miami on Monday night claimed the life of one person while they were in the hospital as police investigated the circumstances that led to the deadly crash. Miami Police and fire rescue crews responded to the scene, located at 1200 NE 79th St., where the collision unfolded. Authorities said the incident involved five cars and a motorcycle. According to police, one person was ejected from their vehicle. Emergency responders airlifted them to Jackson Memorial Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.A second person was possibly ejected from their car during the crash, but that information has not been confirmed by police. (CNN) — Pennsylvania police are broadcasting a message from escaped murderer Danelo Cavalcante’s mother urging him to surrender, as authorities narrow in on a 2-mile area where they believe he is hiding.Cavalcante, 34, broke out of the Chester County Prison, about 30 miles west of Philadelphia, at around 8:50 a.m. Thursday, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said.
