VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Looking for fall reading material? Encore! Books is hosting a fall book sale at the two blue sheds on the Prospect Street side of the Voorheesville Public Library. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! There are books for all ages, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, greeting cards, and sheet music. Nothing costs more than $1. On Saturday, there will also be a raffle and a bake sale. The raffle drawing will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday.The book sale is open to members only on Friday, September 22, from noon to 7 p.m. The public is invited to stop by on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be a live performance with Kitty Rodeo on Sunday from noon to 1 p.m.The Voorheesville Public Library is located at 51 School Road.The Chance Theater adds one final show

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Chance Theater has announced they have added one more show before they officially close their doors. The Chance announced last week that October would mark the end of their run as one of the area's longest standing concert halls. While their October 28 show with 50 Amp Fuse was originally the last event on their calendar, the venue surprised their fans on September 21 with the announcement that Hatebreed's concert would be the theater's true last hurrah.Hatebreed will be joined for the performance by death metal groups Internal Bleeding and Sickbay. ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A man has been sentenced in connection with the shootout that occurred on June 21, 2021, resulting in the death of 40-year-old Kevin Page.Dianthony Lake, 31, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for his involvement in the shootout that occurred in the city’s Greater Ville neighborhood. The shootout resulted in the deaths of three men and left four others wounded.Lake was initially charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful gun possession. However, on August 17, jurors found him guilty of the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.According to court documents and testimony, the shootout took place at a corner store at Sullivan and Warne avenues. Police stated that surveillance video of the incident showed Lake and Page struggling over a gun, with Lake ultimately chasing after Page and shooting him several times.Two other men, Charlie Anderson, 31, and O.J. An Oxnard man is facing a felony charge of hit-and-run after he allegedly struck and seriously injured a bicyclist while driving a Ventura County Transportation Commission bus Thursday morning.The cyclist, identified only as a 64-year-old man from Goleta, was riding his bicycle on Telegraph Road near Joanne Avenue in Ventura around 9:50 a.m. when a blue bus passed him, the Ventura Police Department said in a news release.During the overtake, the bus hit the bike's handlebars, sending the cyclist to the ground. The bus's rear wheels then ran over the man, police said, adding that he suffered "major injuries to his lower body.""The bus continued its route without stopping to render aid or exchange information," the release added.
