SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) -- Disturbing details surrounding the disappearance and homicide of a young woman, Alyssa Nicole Salazar, were released in court documents obtained by KRON4 this week. The accused killer, Ivan Alfaro Escobedo aka Iban Alfaro Escovedo, threatened to kill Salazar and her family in July if they cooperated with police officers who were investigating Escobedo for rape, Santa Clara County court documents show. Days later, the 33-year-old woman went missing, and a neighbor saw a barrel burning outside Escobedo's sister's home in Gilroy. In September, detectives found the barrel with Salazar's skull, hand, and rib bones inside, according to a police report written by Gilroy Police Department Det. Jason Greathead. (KRON) – The Fremont Police Department warns residents of scams, fraud, and financial crimes that the department notices are common in the area. According to Fremont PD, criminals call Fremont residents impersonating police officers and ask for payment for a missed subpoena, a fine for a ticket, a tax payment, or other fees. The criminal then convinces the resident that they must pay them to avoid being arrested or being sued. Criminals even utilize a fake caller ID that displays "Fremont Police Department" and may use the name of a real Fremont police personnel. DENVER (KDVR) — Deputies were involved in a shooting and pursuit that ended with one suspect in the hospital and a crash into a 7-Eleven store. It was a chase that would last nearly 40 miles.Just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Thornton Police officers were involved in a shooting in Thornton. The sheriff's office said officers were shot at during the chase, but they did not return fire at that time.“At some point, the suspect began firing shots at Thornton Police officers. At this point, we believe there was two volleys of gunfire from the suspect vehicle at the Thornton officers,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said.Following the shooting, Thornton officers and Douglas County deputies pursued the vehicle. A man has been rushed to the hospital after what investigators described as a police-involved shooting near Miami Edison Middle School.City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the incident in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 62nd Street, at around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday.Police said the call initially came in as a man in his 20s found shot in a field.Investigators said the man suffered injuries to his head and leg.Paramedics transported the patient to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.Back at the scene, 7News cameras captured several officers in the field, part of which was cordoned off by crime scene tape.Detectives have not provided further details about what led to the shooting, as they continue to investigate.Please check back on WSVN.com and 7News for more details on this breaking story.Boston police seek public’s help in search for missing teen last seen in late September

Boston police asked for the publicâs help Wednesday in efforts to find a missing 16-year-old girl last seen in late September. Police said Tamarra Wilkins-Smith, 16, of Hyde Park was last seen on Sunday, Sept 24 around 1:50 p.m. on surveillance video at the Attleboro MBTA Commuter Rail station. Earlier in the day, police said, Wilkins-Smith was spotted in the area of Allan Street and Boston and Eastern Avenue in Malden. Boston police described Wilkins-Smith as a black female, standing approximately 5â4â with black braided hair. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt with long sleeves, black/white checker pajama pants, black/red sneakers and carrying a black backpack. Police said Wilkins-Smith reportedly attends Jeremiah E. Maywood police said Wednesday officials were awaiting the extradition of former NFL player Sergio Brown after he was taken into custody the day before on a first-degree murder warrant in his mother Myrtle Brown’s death.Brown was arrested while re-entering the U.S. from Mexico at San Diego, officials said.On Sept. 16, Brown’s relatives contacted police after they could not contact Brown or his 73-year-old mother. Both were considered missing persons.Later a brief search of the property where Brown and his mother lived revealed his mother was lying in a creek near the Browns’ home.In the following days, a video of Sergio Brown rambling appeared on social media claiming the death of his mother was fake news.Maywood police said in a news release that Brown was in the process of being returned to Maywood.
