This is creating some slippery roadways with temperatures starting off below freezing. We expect isolated snow flurries/light snow showers to continue throughout the day, especially off to the west. Temperatures will struggle to climb even into the mid 30s this afternoon.Tonight is shaping up to be the coolest night we've seen since Thanksgiving weekend, with a lot of areas dropping into the teens. Single digits are expected up to the north in the higher terrain under a partly to mostly cloudy sky.Thursday will be another chilly one with temperatures once again struggling to reach the mid 30s. More snow showers are anticipated, particularly out to the west. KERHONKSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Police has announced the passing of Christopher Rock, a retired technical sergeant with the New York State Police. New York State Police say technical sergeant Rock died on Sunday from an illness stemming from his assignment at the World Trade Center site, following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. His career spanned 26 years with the state police and he retired on September 27, 2013. He was last assigned to Field Command, Division Traffic. State Police say Rock was assigned to New York City to aid in the search and recovery efforts following September 11. He was 101.Lear died Tuesday night in his sleep, surrounded by family at his home in Los Angeles, said Lara Bergthold, a spokesperson for his family. A liberal activist, Lear fashioned bold and controversial comedies that were embraced by viewers who had to watch the evening news to find out what was going on in the world.
