Man dies in federal prison in Littleton, second prisoner hospitalized

A 52-year-old man died inside the federal prison in Littleton Saturday and a second inmate was taken to a hospital for treatment during the incident, according to a news release from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.Warren Morgan was found “unresponsive” inside the Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Englewood in Jefferson County, the agency said in the release. The statement did not say how the man died, but said staff unsuccessfully attempted to save his life. A second prisoner was also found unresponsive during the incident was taken to a hospital for further treatment.A bureau spokeswoman declined to answer questions Sunday about what happened to the second inmate or offer any details on how Morgan died.The news released noted that no staff were injured and there was never any danger to the public. Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department seized more than $1 million worth of marijuana products and other items during a warrant search in Jurupa Valley Thursday.Authorities served the warrants at an illegal unlicensed dispensary on the 1700 block of Production Circle.Deputies initially responded to the area around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. When they arrived, several people fled, including some who were caught and detained.Search warrants were issued and the Riverside County Sheriff's Marijuana Enforcement Team searched the property.During the search, authorities recovered about 115 pounds of processed marijuana, 10 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 100 pounds of marijuana concentrate, 2,400 marijuana vapes, and 1,200 edibles. An Elkton, Maryland, man is in custody after allegedly shooting two Cecil County sheriff’s deputies and a Maryland State Trooper while fleeing a burglary in Port Deposit, Maryland.In a news release, Maryland State Police say Daniel Padraig Colin Donnelly, 23, of Elkton, has been arrested and charged with three counts of attempted first- and second-degree murder, three counts of first- and second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and reckless endangerment.Police say that shortly before midnight, troopers responded to a call reporting a burglary in the unit block of Twin Lakes Drive.At the scene, four deputies and a state trooper entered the home where the burglary was reported.
