Man arrested in San Rafael on felony stalking charge following series of incidents

(KRON) -- A Benicia man was arrested Tuesday after a series of stalking incidents, the San Rafael Police Department announced in a press release. After serving a search warrant, police arrested Jason Colby Carpenter, 46, when he was seen leaving his Benicia home. Berkeley police arrest man for sexual assault Detectives also found firearms and ammunition that were believed to be tied to one of Carpenter's threats toward his victim. Carpenter had been stalking a female victim, who he dated briefly, in San Rafael since early February, the release said.Police said threatening stalking behavior escalated with each incident. Carpenter would go to the unidentified victim's home and leave unwanted letters and items at her front door. In another stalking incident, Carpenter glued the lock to the front door and made it unusable, according to the press release. MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — NFL prospect and former Louisiana wide receiver Michael Jefferson was involved in a fatal car accident in Mobile County.Jefferson’s agent, Jon Perzley, told ESPN that the player suffered injuries in the accident Sunday evening that required multiple operations. Perzley did not immediately respond to an email sent by The Associated Press on Wednesday.Charles A. Dunn, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene after his car collided head-on with a 2014 Dodge Charger driven by Jefferson, a 23-year-old from Mobile. Another vehicle then struck Dunn’s car. The accident occurred at about 7:55 p.m. on SundayJefferson played the last two seasons at Louisiana after transferring from Alabama State. He finished with his best season, catching 51 passes for 810 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s projected as a potential late-round pick in the draft starting April 27. SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS, Colo. (KDVR) -- A Colorado photographer last snapped a photo of a lynx in Colorado's San Juan mountains in 2016, until Tuesday. Photographer Wesley Berg spends a lot of time in the San Juans photographing wildlife and said the lynx had alluded him for seven years. He also took a video of the animal showing it in its natural habitat. Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the state began a seven-year project to reintroduce the lynx back into the San Juan mountain range in the 90s. He's accused of opening fire on the Bigelow family in front of a Westminster dental office after a road rage incident in June of 2018, killing 13-year-old Vaughn Bigelow Jr. and injuring three others.On the stand Wednesday, Meghan Bigelow told the jury that the whole incident started when she was driving her three boys, Vaughn Jr., Cooper and Asa, to the dentist's office. She said she tried to move into another lane of traffic to allow an emergency vehicle to pass, and another driver became enraged that she cut him off.
