Don’t look now, but the Mets might be on another run. After two ugly but gutsy wins Sunday and Tuesday, the Mets finally played sound baseball and cruised to a 5-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night at Citi Field. It extended their winning streak to three games and it’s their ninth in their last 13 tries. The Mets took the series to win their third one of the month.Brett Baty hit his second home run in as many nights and Justin Verlander one-hit Chicago (40-57) through six innings before surrendering one run in the seventh. The Mets (45-50) put up four runs to add to Baty’s homer in the fourth to go up 5-0.With the clock ticking down to the trade deadline and the Mets entering the day eight games back from the last NL Wild Card spot, Buck Showalter’s club needed a game like this one and a performance like the one they got from Verlander. The right-hander was extremely efficient, needing only 59 pitches to get through the first six innings. Grilling is our preferred method of cooking during the warmer months. My husband and I love to sip a cocktail or beer on the patio while our meat sizzles away. And while I am a fan of our grilled and smoked meats, often the thing I look forward to most on my plate is whatever is on the side.I have a million recipes saved for salads, slaws, beans and more, and I switch things up often. But I do have a few go-to recipes that are crowd-pleasers if I need to contribute to a communal meal but are easy to scale down if it’s just our family. And I’ve included here a few newbies that will definitely be added to my list of favorites. These recipes are mostly light and fresh — an unexpected slaw, a cucumber salad with a twist, a BLT salad that mimics all the flavors of our favorite summer sandwich and a potato salad with bright Mediterranean flavors — but I made an exception for baked beans, one of my very favorite summer sides. My Aunt Sue made a version that I loved as a kid, and ...98.3 TRY Social Dilemma: How do I leave my stylist for the person right next to her?

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Megan, and it's about hair stylists. Here's her email. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I have a real dilemma and I'm not sure what to do. I know how connected men and women feel to their hair stylists, and I've been that way too. But my stylist of six years was on vacation, so I just went to the woman in the chair beside her. I didn't think anything of it, but I loved her. My hair has never looked better. So of course, I want to stay with this woman, and not go back to my old stylist. But how rude would it be to leave my old stylist and literally sit in the chair right next to her station to get my hair done? I really like my old stylist as a person, I just think the new woman gets me and my look more. How would you handle this? Would you stick with the old stylist out of loyalty, or would you go with the new one because it's supposed to be about w...Ask Amy: Blissful marriage’s bubble is about to burst

Dear Amy: I am married to a wonderful woman. We just completed 20 years of marriage and have two fantastic teenagers. Our life is fairly blissful.Unfortunately, we are cut off from our families. My wife only gets along with her mother; no one else. She has not talked to her brother in years. She barely speaks to my family when we visit them every other year.I feel like I have eloped with her to a distant island. She expects everyone to behave in a certain manner and if they don’t, she holds grudges against them forever. She will not forgive and move on. She brings up stuff from years ago that no one even remembers. Even a mention of anyone from my family leads to a fight and a chronological list of gripes.I would like my children to meet their relatives, but she just refuses to budge.Every few weeks, she will select something, pick a fight and be grumpy for a few days.My family members are eager to move past any disagreements. They have also apologized for things they might have ...Road traffic partially restored on Crimean Bridge - Russia deputy PM

“Your honor,” the District Attorney intoned, “we will prove that South committed a felony, in that he pitched 730 points.”“State your case,” the judge instructed.“We have no objection to South’s bid of 3NT,” the DA began. “South had to assume that North had a few points, else South would miss a good game too often.
