Cats overwhelm homeowner in Johnstown A local cat rescue group is looking for homes for more than 40 cats that were found at a Fulton County home. But one advocate says finding places for the cats is more difficult than other animals. Homicide on High Line Canal trail under investigation by Arapahoe County officials The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after deputies found a man’s body on the High Line Canal trail Tuesday morning.Just after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a man lying on the ground of the High Line Canal trail in the area of East Iliff Avenue and South Quebec Street.When deputies arrived, they found the man dead at the scene, deputy John Bartmann said. Investigators were called to the scene and are currently investigating the death as a homicide.According to Bartmann, investigators believe the man died within the last 24 hours.At this time, no information is being released on how the roughly 40-year-old man died. The Rider Fire was reported just before 12:45 p.m. near the 19900 block of Seaton Avenue in Mead Valley, the Riverside County Fire Department said on Twitter.In less than half an hour, it had grown to 5 acres and was "burning in heavy vegetation at a rapid rate of spread," officials added. LAPD seeks help finding missing 77-year-old woman The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a missing 77-year-old woman last seen in Lake Balboa over the weekend.Elaine “Judy” Gordon was last seen leaving her assisted living facility in the 17300 block of Roscoe Boulevard on foot around 11 a.m. Saturday.“She has not been seen since and her family is concerned for her safety,” LAPD said in a news release.Gordon is described as having white and brown hair, green eyes and has a tattoo of a red heart on her right arm. She is 5 feet tall and weighs about 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a green jacket, a multi-colored flower dress and gray Vans and uses a walker to get around, police said.Anyone who has information about Gordon’s whereabouts is asked to call the LAPD’s missing persons unit at 213-996-1800.
