PITTSBURGH (AP) — Connor Joe and Jack Suwinski hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning, Roansy Contreras took a shutout into the seventh and the Pittsburgh Pirates held off the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 on Thursday night.Joe hit a three-run blast to center on a full count off Luke Weaver to open the scoring. DENVER (KDVR) -- Responding to homeless encampments in Denver is estimated by the city auditor to have cost more than $13 million between 2019 and 2022. That total is likely higher because it does not include expenses from the Denver Police Department. The office is calling for better accounting by city agencies as leaders scramble to come up with solutions. GREELEY, Colo. (KDVR) — The Greeley Police Department is asking for assistance in locating a missing woman.Erica Torrez, 34, was reported missing on April 19. A crash involving a car and a motorcycle sent one person to an area hospital Thursday night, officials said. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — An American Airlines worker died Thursday after being injured at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, according to airport officials.The worker was injured in the area where planes pull up to the terminal, a spokesperson at the airport in Austin, Texas, said.Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said it was called shortly after 2 p.m. and found a person dead from “traumatic injuries.”An Austin Police spokeswoman told reporters that the man was driving a service vehicle that struck a jet bridge. Alex Kirilloff is nearly two years removed from the right wrist injury that has wreaked havoc on his budding major league career ever since.Having dealt with a series of setbacks that have limited the 25-year-old outfielder/first baseman to a total of 104 games over the past two seasons, Kirilloff continued his rehab assignment with the Saints on Thursday night at CHS Field in hopes of soon rejoining the Twins and finally putting the injury behind him.Two years of hell? Kirilloff hasn’t allowed himself to look at it that way.“I like to take it as a learning experience,” he said. “Initially, I would say that I didn’t think it would become what it became, but that’s just part of life.
