ST. LOUIS -- Two men were shot in a Downtown St. Louis parking garage Thursday evening. They escaped with their lives. An East St. Louis woman shot Wednesday was not so lucky.Two men were on the third floor of the parking garage located at North 10th Street and St. Charles Thursday when they were approached by a man. He fired shots at them, striking one man in the arm and the other man in a leg. The suspect then walked out of the parking garage, across Washington Avenue, and out of sight.Officers walking on patrol Thursday heard gunshots coming from the parking garage. The victims flagged down officers while they were on their way to the hospital. They told the officers that they did not know why they were targeted. The Federal Transit Administration has awarded Metro Transit with nearly $200 in federal grant funding to replace aging MetroLink train cars. The largest and busiest hospital in Los Angeles County is getting a new name and identity. An annual cannabis judging competition hosted by a prominent weed culture magazine is returning to Southern California for another year of head-to-head competitions, and experts are sought to crown the state's top cannabis suppliers.The 2023 Cannabis Cup, orchestrated and organized by High Times, invites Southern California residents to participate in the annual marijuana battle royale. The American Lung Association has released its annual ‘State of the Air’ report, and the news isn’t good for California.Golden State cities swept the top spot in all three pollution categories: ozone, year-round particulate matter (PM), and short-term particulate matter - all of which come largely from man-made sources like vehicles, factories and refineries.Natural sources include forest fires and volcanoes.The Los Angeles-Long Beach metro area ranked #1 again with the most high ozone days of the 227 metropolitan areas that were ranked. Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Adams AvenueSAN DIEGO, CA (May 5, 2023) – Thursday night, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on State Route 15.Authorities responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes just south of Adams Avenue.According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado struck a male pedestrian in the area.Due to the extent of injuries, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.Meanwhile, the 57-year-old driver of the Chevy pickup remained at the scene.
