Jefferson County inmate dies in custody, cause of death unknown

An investigation is underway after a 27-year-old inmate died in Jefferson County Jail Saturday, sheriff’s deputies said.Ashley Jo Raisbeck, 27, was serving a 28-day sentence in the county jail and was on a detox protocol when she died, according to a Saturday news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.When medical staff at the jail were conducting routine rounds and check-ins on detox-program inmates Saturday, Raisbeck appeared disoriented and was immediately taken to the medical unit, where she collapsed, according to the news release.Medical staff administered three rounds of Narcan, but when Raisbeck stopped breathing, staff began administrating CPR, the release stated.Paramedics transported Raisbeck to the hospital, where she died. A 15-year-old dad-to-be is dead after he was hit by a car that lost control in Sun Valley Saturday night.The teen, identified as Carlos in a GoFundMe set up by his family, was standing in the roadway near cars parked at Strathern and White streets when a vehicle headed east on Strathern lost control, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release.The vehicle, which was driven by a 22-year-old man, hit the parked cars and Carlos, who was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, LAPD officials said.A 15-year-old died after he was hit by a car in Sun Valley on Dec. 17, 2023. Benicia police stopped two people early Saturday morning — the first, a 23-year-old female, for allegedly driving under the influence; and the second, the passenger of the car, for carrying a loaded gun stolen in another state.The arrest occurred just after 1 a.m. near Military West and Southampton roads. After the vehicle was stopped, the female driver was arrested on suspicion of a DUI. PINKHAM’S GRANT, NH (WHDH) — Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash in Pinkham’s Grant, New Hampshire on Sunday morning that left one person dead and two others hospitalized with serious injuries, officials said.Troopers responding to a serious motor vehicle crash in the area of Route 16 around 11:30 a.m. determined that a 63-year-old Errol, New Hampshire, man was driving northbound in the Errol, New Hampshire Fire Department’s 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD truck when he hit a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Conway with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 60-year-old Gorham, New Hampshire man, was taken to Dartmouth Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A talented trio of Natick runners competed outside their comfort zones in the 600 at Sunday’s MSTCA Large School Speed Classic and came away owning the event on the Reggie Lewis Center track.Nick Bianchi is a 4:23 miler and his brother John has run 4:26. The third runner, Andy Marotta, has clocked a 51.0 in the 400. The brothers dropped down to compete in the 600 and Marotta moved up. The result was a 1-2-3 finish with Nick clocking a 1:26.99 and John and Andy finishing in 1:27.21 and 1:27.26, respectively, in an event that drew 85 athletes.The race was used as a speed workout for the two brothers who are used to the longer distances and are concentrating on improving their mile times. “I’m trying to go under 4:20 this winter,” said Nick, who will attend Stonehill College. “I knew I had to make sure I finished hard through the line.
