BOULDER — If you’re wondering just how far this has spread, just how deep it goes, Thanasi “Saki” Mihalakos has a little Buffs story he’d like to share.Saki Mihalakos is a jeweler in north Florida, a former University of South Florida safety-turned-coach and a friend and business associate of the Sanders family. A few days back, he was asked to speak to a group of kids, aged 7-ish to 14-ish, at a local Pop Warner League — impart a little wisdom, talk a little shop. One of the coaches introduced him as the diamond guy. You know? The one who put the bling on all of Shedeur Sanders’ things.Suddenly, all these tiny, skinny left wrists popped up in the air and started flexing, almost in unison. It was as if they were standing in front of an imaginary Arizona State student section at Mountain America Stadium, getting the last word.“They were going crazy, throwing their wrists up,” Mihalakos told The Denver Post earlier this week, chuckling at...Inside the curious mind of Broncos defensive lineman Matt Henningsen: “You can always ask Matt”

Broncos defensive end Matt Henningsen’s curiosity ignited his passion for math and physics as a child. He wanted to learn how the things he used on a daily basis, like cellphones, worked. How could someone make a call from the other side of the world? How can someone’s phone screen completely change just by touching it?The basic functions of a device that some might take for granted fascinated him. For Henningsen, it was magic. And he needed to know the answers.“(You can) touch a screen, and something new pops up,” he said. “… That’s kind of crazy.”On a Broncos roster that features a Super Bowl champion quarterback, an All-Pro cornerback and safety, and the son of a World Series champion, Henningsen might be the most interesting player in the locker room.In high school, he joined a local chess league and was a part of the national Spanish and science honor societies. At the University of Wisconsin, he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and master’s ...Ask Amy: If I’d known about this upheaval, I would have declined the wedding invitation

The Champions League resumes Tuesday at Manchester United where one of the competition’s most storied clubs is mourning its all-time great Bobby Charlton.Charlton, who died Saturday aged 86, survived the fatal air crash at Munich in February 1958 that devastated the then-champion of England on its journey home from a European Cup game.He lifted the trophy 10 years later as captain of a team rebuilt by manager Matt Busby who had been seriously injured at Munich, where eight players died.Charlton was a beloved director on the Man United board when it was European champion again in 1999 and 2008 under another Scottish manager, Alex Ferguson, who he had helped bring to the club. The main stand is named for Charlton at Old Trafford where Man United will host Copenhagen on Tuesday and pay tribute to a man who helped define its illustrious history.Charlton “was a hero to millions,” the club said in a statement. “Not just in Manchester, or the United Kingdom, but wherever football is played ...A second shipment of 17 trucks bringing aid to Palestinians crosses into Gaza, Egyptian media say

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Argentines were going to the polls Sunday, as frustrated voters weigh handing the presidency to an anti-establishment, right-wing populist who has shaken up the political system and pledges to drastically overhaul the state.Javier Milei, a self-described anarcho-capitalist who admires former U.S. President Donald Trump, sent shockwaves through the nation after receiving the most votes in the August primaries. The economist and first-year lawmaker has said he will slash public spending, halve the number of government ministries, eliminate the central bank and replace the local currency with the U.S. dollar. He first made a name for himself with angry tirades blasting what he calls the “political caste” on television, and has gained support from Argentines struggling to make ends meet amid annual inflation of 140% and a rapidly depreciating currency. His platform also calls for reshaping Argentine culture, and he casts himself as a crusader against the s...Things to do in the DC area: Halloween, fall festivals, pumpkin patches … and more!
