TORONTO — An examination of China’s evolution from fragile superpower to global heavyweight has won the $50,000 Lionel Gelber Prize.Susan L. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A shooting at a bank building in downtown Louisville on Monday morning killed five people and wounded at least six others, police said. The suspected shooter was also dead, police said.Louisville Metro Police Department Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey told reporters officers who arrived on the scene “encountered active gunshots still being fired inside the location at that time.”“The shooter was confirmed to be dead on the scene,” Humphrey said. “We do not know exactly the circumstances of his death at this time.”Witnesses who left the building told Louisville station WHAS-TV they heard gunfire inside the building.Numerous police vehicles were seen on television footage. CHICAGO — University of Chicago police issued an alert Monday following three robberies in three days near campus.The first robbery happened Friday morning at around 8:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 55th Street. Police said a victim exited a bus when they had a Bluetooth speaker stolen from them. CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Barney Road Golf Course is now open for the season. The course was built in 1966 and great for golfers of all ages, with a practice green available for beginners. Town Supervisor Phil Barrett said the Town of Clifton Park is constantly working on improvements to the course, including a new starter shed that was added just a few weeks ago. After four weeks of body recovery efforts, searchers using an underwater drone vehicle have recovered the bodies of missing Colorado musician Chuck Morris, a percussionist for the band Lotus, and his son, Charley, authorities confirmed Monday.They found the bodies in Beaver Lake, at a depth around 180 feet, Benton County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Shannon Jenkins said.An effort on Sunday that drew in a Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue Team from Tennessee located and recovered the bodies using the underwater vehicle “in a challenging environment,” Jenkins said.Morris, 47, and his 20-year-old son Charley went kayaking in March and did not return. A storm was approaching as they went out that brought winds at speeds of 40 miles per hour.Searchers initially found two kayaks and a coat on the lake.
