On one of the hottest training camp days of the summer, Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph on Wednesday served up a cool, refreshing glass of intrigue.The subject: Rookie inside linebacker Drew Sanders.At 6-foot-5 and 233 pounds, the first-year defender is hard to miss on the field. Two officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were injured in a Mid-City crash Wednesday morning.The incident occurred around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Cochran Avenue, according to the LAPD.A preliminary investigation revealed the officers were on patrol when they were t-boned by another vehicle, according to LAPD.It is unclear how many occupants were in the other vehicle, or if anyone else was injured in the crash.The conditions of the officers are also unknown.Video from the scene showed the LAPD SUV with heavy front and passenger side damage in the middle of the street and debris strewn about the area.No further details were released.KTLA's Nancy Fontan contributed to this story.More than 1,200 odor complaints lodged against Santa Clarita Valley landfill

Air quality regulators have ordered a private landfill in Castaic to take immediate steps to reduce a putrid odor that has prompted more than a thousand complaints from nearby residents.On Tuesday, the South Coast Air Quality Management District sent an “order of abatement” to the owners of the Chiquita Canyon Landfill, which is located just south of the Val Verde community and west of Six Flags Magic Mountain.South Coast AQMD says the agency began receiving a large number of odor complaints in May.Investigators determined the stench was the result of elevated levels of sulfur, specifically dimethyl sulfide, in landfill gas emissions which “its gas treatment system is not designed to remove,” officials said.Chiquita Canyon Landfill in Castaic, California. Car Collision near 60th Street East Left Two FatalitiesLANCASTER, CA (August 16, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a head-on crash on Avenue E left two people dead and four other people hospitalized.The deadly collision occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Avenue E and 60th Street East.According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a Dodge Charger collided with a Chevrolet Silverado for unknown reasons. Video footage from the scene showed a heavily damaged dark-colored sedan, a light-colored vehicle, and a flipped pickup truck.Unfortunately, the first responders declared the two drivers dead at the scene.
