DENVER (KDVR) — One person has been arrested after allegedly breaching the Colorado Supreme Court building early Tuesday morning.According to the Denver Police Department, officers responded to a call at 1:11 a.m. about a suspect breaching the building known as the Ralph Carr Judicial Center located at 2 East 14th Ave. FOX31 Newsletters: Sign up to get breaking news sent to your inbox DPD said the suspect fired shots from the building but no injuries have been reported.At 3:13 a.m. an adult male was taken into custody. FOX31 crews are at the scene where several agencies responded, including Denver Police Metro SWAT and Colorado State Patrol. ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) — Several laws take effect in Colorado in the new year.One of those laws bans the use of plastic bags for purchase at retail stores and Styrofoam from restaurant take-out orders. These new Colorado laws go into effect in 2024 A 12-year-old from Arvada said she has been advocating for this change since she was five. Madhvi Chittoor said the ban will help mitigate the impacts on climate change and the environment.“When I was 5 years old, I watched a CNN documentary called ‘Midway, a plastic island.’ It showed the garbage and plastics, they were all over the beaches and oceans," said Chittoor. One person is dead after a 3-alarm fire in Cambridge Tuesday morning.Officers responded to a 4-story brick building on Chester Street before 5 a.m. after heavy fire was reported in a first floor apartment. Cambridge Fire Chief Thomas Cahill confirmed one fatality from the blaze; the individual was found dead by firefighters inside the structure. Authorities said they had to conduct multiple rescues to get residents out safely.
